Susan Marston

Susan Marston has had a life-long love of children’s books—as a child, a babysitter, a teacher, and, for twenty-five years, as editorial director of the Junior Library Guild. She says that while writing What Color Is Your Favorite Month? she and Stepanka shared the goal of playfully capturing the essence of each month of the year so beautifully represented in Magdalena’s illustrations. Susan’s favorite month is March, and the colors she thinks of are inspired by her mother’s garden where yellow daffodils on green stems are often topped by a sparkling dollop of white snow. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
